Dear Aveda Family,

Aveda was born cruelty-free in 1978 and has always been opposed to animal testing - a key component of our brand mission to care for the world and all of its inhabitants. Today, we are proudly sharing with you that we have received Leaping Bunny approval through Cruelty Free International, the globally recognizable gold standard of approval for cruelty-free products.

This is a truly exciting moment for Aveda because Leaping Bunny is the only internationally recognizable approval that requires: (a) a supplier monitoring system to be implemented by the brand, (b) checks for animal testing down to and including ingredient manufacturer level of the supply chain, (c) adherence to a fixed cut-off date, and (d) regular independent supply chain audits to ensure compliance. 

Aveda believes that cosmetic products should be cruelty free, and this approval through Leaping Bunny reaffirms our commitment.
